IFRF is the research and networking hub of the global combustion and energy community. We perform research, facilitate access to research capabilities and expertise worldwide, and disseminate information. Our mission is to advance applied combustion research and promote cooperation and information transfer throughout the international combustion and energy arena. We originated at IJmuiden, the Netherlands in 1948 before moving to Livorno, Italy.
IFRF is now based at the UK’s University of Sheffield where we have access to the facilities of the PACT Network as well as those of the European Flame Research Infrastructure (EFRI).
